Build dated August 15th, yep same deal. I use build dated Januari 27th. So somewhere between there and now something happened to cause this issue.

Follow these Steps

Before you go through all of this trouble, since I've been looking at the strange address of your Violation -- have you (or are you)
running 3DGE as an Administrator (or on an admin-account) within Windows? I believe that might be a requirement now for some
users -- if that does not solve your problem (and only takes two seconds honestly) then it's something else.

0) Run System Update (Windows Update) before you do ANYTHING, please. Grab everything it wants you to. This is important.
1) Right-Click '3DGE.exe"
2) Select "Run as Administrator"
3) Run the game if you haven't already


Another thing you *MUST* do for me is identify your system specs (you can grab this information from DEBUG.TXT),
because the CrashReporter program isn't as precise as E_ShowCPU() is. Also, your OpenGL specs (which you can also
get from DEBUG.TXT).

Pretty much just attach the DEBUG.TXT as a file attachment from your session into the forum post that the App
redirects you to. That way I have the complete picture. One doesn't work without the other anymore

Wait, what is the January 27th build? On DRDTeam I see one from the day before and the day after the 27th -- so if you could,
run the last version of the engine that worked good for you and send me the 3DGE version string (3DGE-2.1.0pre-githash.7z,
where githash is the 8-character hash). So I have somewhere _definite_ to work off of.

Did you see the reply in the other thread about things you can do to make EDGE run better? If not, see this suggestion from
Microsoft (just to rule out the possibility of not having a certain feature or runtime):

Just provide me with the information of the last known EDGE version you have gotten to work (assuming you are using strictly DRDTeam Builds),

Running the application as admin or not makes no difference. I know how to do that.

According to my system, everything is up to date. Well, as up to date as it can be for such an older operating system and piece-of-crap hardware. The installer for the updates from microsoft.com failed for I already had the updates. If it is to be believed.

The build I'm using is 2.1.0 Test3-RC (5df71fd), date of the package is Januari 27th. Can't be much more precise than that. I'm not saying it is the last version that works for me, just that it is the last one I know of. I really don't feel like going through every single build from this year just to have the computer crash over and over again. I've tried about three of the later builds, all with the same results.

Generally, 3DGE also performs quite badly on this machine. I truly miss my old one. It was old, like really old, but sturdy and reliable. This one, being a few models up from that I figured it'd be a good deal. Not so much. It feels cheaper, it overheats easilly, has tons of annoying quirks, sub-par graphics card (or it's the drivers, but it tells me everything is up to date). And when they put HDMI on it, they replaced one of the four USB slots instead of actually making a new one. Minor issue, perhaps, but it does annoy me and speak of cheapness.

Integrated graphics? Try running EDGE again with the command line switch, -norenderbuffers. It might be something related to EDGE's renderer and how it defaults to GL3 mode. Using that switch forces the EDGE 1.36 renderer for compatibility sake.
