What with the opening 3DGE animation and what appears to be recently-added menu options now gone. And where's the option in the sound menu to have the pitching removed? Quote from changelog: "+ NEW: Sound Pitching (use s_pitch 0 to disable, or use Options->Sound)"
Download the newest build that I just uploaded (
from August 7).
I added sound pitching enable/disable in the Sound Options menu. I also cleaned up the menu system somewhat. Sorry it took so long. I'll add a new define
in the next version for DDF sounds to enable random sound pitching on a per-sound basis for modders as well.
The devbuilds aren't based on older builds, but it is working off of a new, experimental branch in the Git repository designed to clean up the source code.
Next build will see the old BOUNCE behavior restored. I figured out why it was mucked up -- a contributor uploaded a vital change in the math code that
the bounce code relies on, and when that happened, it broke the bouncing behavior, which Chilly then fixed. The math code was refactored and, as it
increased performance, it did indeed broke the BOUNCE code from before. I think before it relied on BAM angles being a very specific calculation - not
saying the refactor was a bad idea, but it should have been tested first.

Ok, I will...
I'm glad you finally sorted out the bounce issue as it was breaking compatibility and causing headaches for us modders. What with casings "sliding forever" and whatnot.
But why was the opening animation added in again? It's... er... very 90's. Reminds me of an old Windows screensaver or one of those DOS animation showcases from back in the day.
EDIT: Crashed when I started a new game, three times in a row. Sent a crash report.

Make sure you overwrite all previous data, delete old CFGs, and delete the cache.

I unpacked the contents of the archive into a new directory and it still crashes when starting a game.

Crashes when you select New Game? Or just crashes in general?

When selecting a New Game. I have to manually terminate the program.

That...is very strange. Does the program completely lock up? What are the last few lines of Debug.txt before
it stalls like this? I have the PDB (debug database) ready for the newest version I released yesterday.
So you get into the Main Menu, select New Game -- then nothing? Or are you able to set skill/episode before
the program hangs? Does 'edgecrashreport.exe' have a chance to grab at the crash?

It crashes when it loads the level. I'm able to select new game, episode, skill and hear the beginning of the music before it goes cold turkey (freezes).

Does it generate a debug.txt or, probably since it freezes, it doesn't. Hmm, you aren't running WinXP are you?
