Updating the old DreamEDGE source code to run on 3DGE 1.36, and it's not easy. First of all, I have to set up a cross compile environment because the makefile is all linux-y and it's a pain in the ass. Second, updating the entire source code from 1.29 to 1.36 is daunting enough. There's so much to do. And I need to fix the music playback and get the new dynamic lighting working. But for now, at least get a working Win32 compile. Then, the .dc after. Wish me much luck as this makes my head hurt.

Coraline has put the ban hammer down on any pics but I swear to you, Dream3dge will probably be at beta functionality within 48 hrs. of me posting this.

SLAVE gamers will get dibs. We are thankful for your patience!

There are videos in Coraline's fb feed showing doom running in the nullC dreamcast emulator. Lots of polygon gaps, clipping, and no transparency. Beta1 in 3 weeks. Even I can't be wrong every single time!

Most of the sprite rendering issues are gone, even the transparent backgrounds look correct now. Gameplay is smooth with high number of frames until level exit, which crashes nulldc.

If level exit is the only issue left, erm, I'll stay away from time stamps in this post but at the -dominos-falling- rate issues are being dealt with...

Not lots to report since in August, quite a few RL issues have popped up. Real hardware(DC!) problems are the focus for Sept. as NullDC isn't used for testing in the last few weeks.

Okay, so 72 hours isn't 6 months.

HOUSTON, WE HAVE A BINARY!!!!

It functions on the dreamcast without crashes thus far, although beta testers have yet to report. glbsp has been replaced with Tinybsp, and textures can't be larger than 64X64.

More News and a youtube from Coraline soon.

Textures can be as large as they want (up to 512x512, theoretically larger), though there is special processing code that will either downsample, or upsample, on the fly.

What are the current limitations? I would like to beta test. I have a Dreamcast and some CDs to run through, I can try QDOOM out or perhaps Astral Pathfinder?
