It crashes when it loads the level. I'm able to select new game, episode, skill and hear the beginning of the music before it goes cold turkey (freezes).

I unpacked the contents of the archive into a new directory and it still crashes when starting a game.

It is, I've experimented with messages via RTS and it's clunky and involves quite a bit of code. You'll need to select the string, color, alignment, time and if you want it to fade in/out. It will also need to be called for from THINGS.DDF.

As far as I know there is no way of doing so. Due the hardcoded scaling, using custom fonts can be a little problematic.

Ok, I will... I'm glad you finally sorted out the bounce issue as it was breaking compatibility and causing headaches for us modders. What with casings "sliding forever" and whatnot.
