No doubt you've all seen the new trailer for Hypertension, which was at the MGC 2014! Discuss your thoughts below!

I've been a follower of this project for years. I have only recently seen news since you've started posting on Facebook. When I saw the trailer my heart stopped. This game is exceeding even my wildest expectations for a Dreamcast game. I check the blog regularly to stay in the know. Hypertension: Harmony of Darkness is unlike anything else on the Dreamcast. There are no indie developers currently putting out anything worth playing on the Dreamcast. Shmups are OK but not what I'm after.
Anyways, I hope this project sees its completion. I've been waiting a long time to buy this game.

Definitely glad to hear your enthusiasm. We've come a long way, even then, since that trailer. We're trying our hardest to put out something that people will remember as a great game, not just a good retro shooter. We hope that is reflected in the final product.

And it'll be completed! At least, if GOAT has anything to say about it! ;)

I'm really quite amazed by this trailer. I'm a Dreamcast collector who has never given much attention to indie releases before, simply because many don't look like actual Dreamcast games, but nebulously "retro" titles that somebody decided to release on the Dreamcast more or less as a gimmick. Hypertension is the kind of game I've been hoping to see come out because it looks like a Dreamcast game that's just 15 years too late to the party. I'm wondering, will there be a chance to pre-order anytime soon? I am aware there are reasons kickstarter can't be used for this project, but this really is the kind of thing I want to preemptively buy just based on just the concept.

Hello Magnus and welcome, sorry about the slow response. First off, the trailer above is somewhat dated. Corbin will be posting the latest soon enough and I hope you like psychological horror/thrillers because the last in house trailer thoroughly scared some of our facebook followers s***less.

The team is wrestling with some technical issues to get sLaVe out the door. Please be patient, as folks with better intel should be along shortly.

This is a more current trailer than the one that was shown last year, to give you an idea to what direction we decided to head into.

Yeah, Hypertension is aiming to take that "high-budget", "no-budget" indie trope and turn it around, so hopefully when you play it, the story/characters/gameplay get you sucked in, we aren't developing it to be a "partygame" or a minigame like a lot of releases, but something legitimately playable and memorable. Hopefully we can accomplish this with what we have now, it just took us a long time to get there, and I'm glad we abandoned the BLOOD stuff and were forced to do things from scratch, because it's making the game that much more enjoyable...at least to me =)

Let me know what you think of that new trailer!

It's looking better and better, Corbin! I love the fact that you moved away from the Blood stuff because it gives the project an even more unique identity.

This trailer was amazing! It makes me wonder if it's possible to recreate games like Resident Evil, Kiss Psycho Circus or even NiGHTMARE CREATURES with 3DGE!! Keep it going, I'm looking forward to the release!
