Using large png tiles
How would I go about using over-sized png files as textures in my mod? I can import PNG files into a wad using Slade, but what if I want to use higher-resolution images than these tiny 64x64 tiles? I want to use larger images, but I want them to still appear in the levels as about the same relative ...

Re: How far can I push Hub maps?
So wait, are you saying I can hit switches that have effects in other maps? (When using hubs) ... How do those hub maps work, anyway? My best guess is that it saves the map like a game save file, and when the player re-etners the map, it just quickly tries to advance all of the processes. As i think...

How far can I push Hub maps?
When I was testing example maps that showcased how 3DGE could perform various feats, the one that stood out the most to me was the hub maps wad, which showed a simple demo of traveling freely between six or so small one-room maps. This concept intrigues me and I would like to utilize it in a full-bl...

Re: Custom Palette Issue
Huh. That might be the right path to follow, but it doesn't fully explain it. I mean, it is using the new palette in that image, otherwise the image would look noticeably wrong (just testing in Slade, the Cyberdemon would be gray.) So it IS using the correct pallette, but it is making secondary assu...

Re: [in development] unnamed fantasy mod
I don't like the latest changes to the HUD; they block the view of the weapons.

Re: Loading new models on the fly?
Swapping out a whole player model just to change the weapon? I don't know if it is possible or not, but my first thought is that such would be really wasteful. I would hope the system would allow you to just swap out a second mesh attached to the model, and maybe use a different set of animations. A...

Re: Questions about 3DGE technical abilities
Oh yeah, I keep forgetting about it, but something else I think might be useful is allowing the engine to not care if a graphic it is applying to a surface not care if it is a flat or a texture or perhaps even just a patch. It might be something that would also require some sort of update to Doom Bu...

Re: [in development] unnamed fantasy mod
Reflecting on the thought of packaging DDF's that you are working on has me more eager to see the planned .pk3 file support finished. Since pk3 files are just renamed zip files, it would be much easier to compile everything together.

Re: [in development] unnamed fantasy mod
Sure, while you are working on it, but I mean when you release an update, put them in there to make it easier for the rest of us. You can leave the files in the directory while you work on them and just upload a wad with them in it. Runsaber, how do I create new lump in Slade? I tried "Archive -> Ne...
