ended up figuring out how to do it, though i came upon one problem.
ive compiled my model now so i can start taking screenshots except the texture is messed up. anyone have experience with this?

in milkshape 3d it's textured, but when compiled its a black lump.

hopeing one of you guys might know how to fix it, or i might try and find a half life forum that can help me

nope, no error, got someone on a different forum to help, turns out decompiled source models can end up having the model mesh lower, and it just needs to be moved up

it was rather simple, kinda feel a bit dumb for not figuring it out on my own

things should run smooth with my mod now :D

Hacking or not... It still took quite a bit of work. I'm impressed! I'll work on providing you with a 3d model of a Pulse Rifle. What format does it have to be in?

Looks like I have to buy it, and it needs to be skinned? I may be able to turn out a skin for it. I don't need this right away, the sprite from Aliens Online has been a good placeholder. But lack of frames has kept it from really being awesome....

You don't need to *buy* a pulse rifle model:
I've seen at least two of them around the net: one was definitely HalfLife/Counterstrike, and I'm half sure the other was already MD2 format.

Google harder baby!

theres also this pulse rifle
http://www.fpsbanana.com/skins/67789

i can put it on these animations
http://www.fpsbanana.com/skins/862

and you can end up viewing it in 'jed's half life model viewer' and take screen rips with that?

unless of course u have the model viewer for source stuff, that would work
