Edge 1.35 - weapon zoom

Postby sierraoscar19 » Sun 24 Apr 2011 9:50 pm

Ok so I'm trying to set the fov zoom for a weapon and any value other than 7 seems broken (either the fov becomes wildly out of proportion or the screen image flips upside down. Any clues?

Are you using the console to set this? r_zoomfov to be specific? If not, if you could, list your code so it can be narrowed down.

Not touching the console - just playing around with the zoom command in weapons.ddf

Was this an issue before 1.35?

No, this is a new problem with 1.35.

The weapons.ddf code is below:
[USP]
AMMOTYPE=AMMO1;
AMMOPERSHOT=1;
AUTOMATIC=FALSE;
REFIRE_INACCURATE=FALSE;
BINDKEY=2;
PRIORITY=1;
CLIPSIZE=12;
SHOWCLIP=TRUE;
ATTACK=USP;
KICK=0.26;
SPECIAL=NO_SWITCH,FRESH;
BOBBING=25%;
SWAYING=10%;
SEC_AMMOTYPE=NOAMMO;
SEC_AUTOMATIC=FALSE;
SECOND_ATTACK=KNIFE;
ZOOM_FOV=7;

And below are the setting from the edge.cfg file

/r_fov "90"
/r_zoomfov "10"

Yeah looks like ZOOM_FOV is broken in 1.35, which was my fault :oops:

A workaround is to use a very small number, like:

ZOOM_FOV=0.000007;

but there may be other issues from that.
