I think I've posted about (then) darkxl before, well there's a new site up, and things are starting to get interesting (beta release immanent)

Hey this looks pretty interesting. Initially I thought it may have been a port of Skynet because of the name. (Xngine) Which was really just a buffed Daggerfall engine. Either way I will be keeping this book marked. :D

How is he getting Bloodxl to work with the exe?. If he's backward engineering blood exe. then he's violating the user agreement that forbids doing anything to the executable. All the hasher programs in the world can't change what you agree to during installation, content violations not withstanding.

He's not reverse engineering anything. Instead he is in the process of writing an engine which supports certain rendering techniques needed for rendering the levels and objects the original games came with. Of course, you don't need to download and play it, if your think anything spooky is going on... :roll:

It's not that I'm absolutely certain bloodxl is violating anything hungerfish. My first statement was too bold in that regard. Decompiling an executable and simply reading the exe. output with a hex editor are 2 different things legally. I'm not sure what he's doing or how it stands license wise.
