same species immunity applies to explosions

Postby SGWwizard » Sat 31 Oct 2009 4:26 pm

If monster has a fireball attack that causes explosive damage, and is immune to attacks from others of it's own kind, then it should not take damage from the explosive damage it's own fireballs cause.

For example, currently if you made the mancubus fireballs cause radial damage (eg, some explosive damage, with explosive radius to make it bigger)...

...a group of mancubi will start fighting with each other when they begin to spray the player with fireballs. Since they are immune to the primary fireball damage, they will only take damage from the explosive aspects of the fireballs.

Certainly, putting ultra loyal on them will prevent them from fighting each other (will it?), but if the explosive damage for a given monster/fireball is high then a group of these monsters will wipe themselves out.

And it isnt fair to give them explosive immunity like bossman either.

It just makes sense if they are immune to the fireball they should be immune to the blast it produces too.

You can change this in DDF.
