Variable Resistance

Postby Visplane Overflow » Wed 29 Aug 2007 12:28 am

I was thinking that the current system of resistances/immunities is somewhat awkward. Setting resistances only allow you to have an actor's damage reduced by 60%, or not. I was wondering if it would be possible, in some future release, to have the user able to set the percentages for resistance classes.

I've already implemented RESISTANCE_MULTIPLY, which lets you control how much damage the RESISTANCE_CLASS will "absorb" (the damage is just multiplied by RESISTANCE_MULTIPLY to get the final damage).

EDIT: there is also the new WEAKNESS stuff, even though it was meant for making the object vulnerable to certain attacks (increase the damage), using a value < 1 for the WEAKNESS.MULTIPLY would turn it into secondary form of resistance.
