Lonely Meadows

Story:
At the start of the game we find Scott Harris and his daughter Eli driving to the town resort of "Lonely Meadows". A figure suddenly appears on the road, and Scott turns the car, swerving off the road. When he regains consciousness Scott discovers that Eli is missing and he finds himself in the midst of the evil slowly engulfing "Lonely Meadow", a world of nightmarish delusions come to life. He must find Eli and escape from the horrors which await him.


Description:
It will be a mix of RE and SH, taking ideas from both, but coming out with something which isn't from either universe. For example the plot will begin very much like SH with the character lost and puzzled in a strange town, but will also feature a mutagenic virus and zombies like in RE.

Are those zombies sprites? Its hard to tell, either way they look good. Where they ripped or did you create those on your own?

Mixing RE and SE is a brilliant idea by the way. Just add of flair of Alone in the Dark into the mix and you have yourself a winner.

Oridginal lone in the dark by the way, lol.

Yeah, I scaled down the screenies so as not to mess up the thread.
a bigger image to see Mr. Zombie a bit better.

Yeah, I did them myself (and it was a lot of work too!)

I'm skilled at creating images with hellish themes, just look at my avatar. Thats actually me. In my demonic alter ego of course.

Do you have some sort of base zombie sprite? One not textured is what I mean. If so, I'd like to create some graphics for your TC.

My Ideas:

- Undead Wolf
Properties: Attacks upon sighting the player, otherwise follows a patrol route.

- Wraith ( Spooky reaper looking guy that hovers )
Properties: Has ranged attack, but steadly advances toward player prefering to decapitate his victims instead.

- Possessed/mutated Arm
Properties: The limb of a corpse, slithers and bounces along the floor trying to get at you. Sometimes will stand upright, and crawl at you like a spider instead of dragging itself along the floor.

Just a few ideas, not sure exactly what your looking for yet. But I would like to help!

Wow, that's a sweet model alright! It's quite cheap and I'm almost tempted, but with two kids I know it would be broken within a week :cry:

My Robotech TC is alive and well, it just took a back seat to Lonely Meadows, which took a back seat to DoomPAL, which took a back seat to EMUS :D
Now that EMUS is almost upon us, and DoomPAL was basically done when I left it, next on the list is Lonely Meadows I guess.

However, I have promised some people that as soon as EDGE 1.29 final gets here, I would release a WIP of Robotech FirstGen in it's current state and still intend to do so. Problem is that it was the first TC I ever started, and it shows, especially in most of the maps which are really bland. It's nowhere near finished, but looking back I think I was too ambitious so it might just stay the way it is now. Even so, it's still a pretty cool tech demo for some of EDGEs cool features, which is why I want to release it.

Are you ready to admit the fact that those zombies are actually .MD2 models and not digitized sprites? :D

At the time of the screenshot, .md2 models were not usable in EDGE. Those screenshots contained sprites, made of .md3s from a Half-Life mod, if I recall.

It's not as easy as you assume.

Half life is based on the quake engine (note: not quake 2, which uses md2 models) but has been heavily modified. It is estimated that as much as 70% of the engine was rewritten.

Half Life models are very different to quake 2 models because they have "skeletons" or "bones" which are used for the movement, whereas in md2 models you are just deforming the polygons to get the animation: as such this complicates matters a great deal and does not allow for straight conversion from one format to the other.
