DDFs inserted as lumps - problem

To clarify, I'm using v1.34 final

Yes, all worked fine before trying to insert the DDFs as lumps.

From some testing, it looks like Edge is actually loading the internal DDF lumps first, and then it goes looking for external lump files.

I'd send the file but it's 30mb+

Thanks for helping Andrew.

Here goes. Basically to test my "compiled" wad I've installed a clean version of 1.34 and moved my wad file into that directory. It doesn't actually get to launch, because it looks like Edge then references its "standard" ddf files....

The current error (missing SARG_BROWN colormap) should not happen.

The only way I can think of that happening is if you have your own DDFCOLM lump and put #CLEARALL at the beginning.

The fix then is to remove that #CLEARALL. Using #CLEARALL is not recommended anymore, there are only two files where it is useful: GAMES.DDF and WEAPONS.DDF.

EDGE will always load its DDF files before ones from any added pwads. That is true now as it was for earlier versions, the only difference is now EDGE gets its ddf from a folder instead of EDGE.WAD.

To the original problem: I think you just need #CLEARALL at the beginning of your DDFWEAP lump (after the <WEAPONS> tag). Or you could have dummy PISTOL and FIST weapon entries which do not have the FREE=TRUE line.
