ACS, polyobjects, uncapped frame rate, more classes with decorate, the list goes on. Just getting caught up with the basics found in other ports would involve more coding hours than forking some other port, adding RTS scripting, COAL and compatibility with edge's map format/ 3Dfloors. Heck, there's ...

Edge is dead! It's so sad. :( ... Wait a tic - or wait 35 tics to be precise - it's not really dead, is it? We have Corbin's work on 3DGE and his game project SCOURGE on that engine... EDGE isn't dead! Yay! At some point I might release small things for EDGE in future as well, because I don't want ...

Understood.

Sorry to hear it but GZdoom is a high quality port, not to mention the bigger audience. Good luck with your endeavors.

Look, I know you don't want to burn any bridges but isn't it time to make an official announcement if you can't dedicate serious amounts of time to EDGE?

Just saying,

Pointless experiment-d3d

For the past few months I've been trying to get edge to run with titaniumgl, a wrapper that takes gl imput and runs it through the d3d renderer. It never worked. After trying to contact the maker of titaniumgl and getting no response, I had to search for another gl wrapper to run EDGE with. I found ...

MD2 Model stress test

Has anyone ever pushed edge to its limits when rendering models? SierraOscar19 came out with that CQB mod a while ago that had issues on lower end systems. Now with a sub- branch of edge using MD3 models, I wonder if there's a way to test the handling of of such.

It's not that I'm absolutely certain bloodxl is violating anything hungerfish. My first statement was too bold in that regard. Decompiling an executable and simply reading the exe. output with a hex editor are 2 different things legally. I'm not sure what he's doing or how it stands license wise.

How is he getting Bloodxl to work with the exe?. If he's backward engineering blood exe. then he's violating the user agreement that forbids doing anything to the executable. All the hasher programs in the world can't change what you agree to during installation, content violations not withstanding.

There are several technical advantages to violating the software agreement and reverse engineering the exe., that much true. I don't know why he's bothering with the hasher program. If your gonna ride the bull, slather yourself down in analgesic cream and ride the fucker. Leave the pretty dress at h...

Edge Builder?

So I've been learning the ropes of newbie mapping thanks to SRBDoombuilder for the Sonic mod that uses Doom Legacy. The quickie tutorials have got me confident enough to try my hand at classic DB1 once I've mastered all the basics. I was wondering if anyone thought there might be an advantage in EDG...

I'm not too sure how small a request this is, let's hope it's as easy as it sounds.

Not that andrew is going to spend anything above a few hours coding any one feature, still I may as well add my vocal support to the tumult of pleading voices concerning walkig on flat/sector type actions, "please please, please" as karni said. If EDGE has any edge over other ports, it's t...

Thanks Corbin and Karnizero for the responses. I guess what I was trying to suggest was a true sound entity, something a mapper with little or no scripting ability could place on a level with a map editor. The only way to code an enemy to fire at player through walls is in c code i take it. Plus you...

to karnizero- sound entities

hi karnizero, Why not cook up some invisible, non -moving enemies that "fire" sound at player? Think of it as a sentry gun that player cannot see or be hurt by. Hypertension's been experimenting with THINGS for ambient sound and the results have been less than satisfying so far. I think It...

Andrew, I think you should ask for HT svn access to help beta test Hypertension. That way you'd get to give some devs a taste of their own medicine, asking for features and complaining about what's not right and so on. You have to admit it would be a change of pace.
