Consoles!!

Ok, so how many consoles do you own? For me, I own almost every single Sega console, and haven't bought a new one since the GBA... http://www.3dfxdev.net/myfamily.JPG So how many do you own? Also...besides those, not pictured are the Atari 2600, GBA, the original Game Boy, and the Sega Master Syste...

Humm, why don't you just make your own flamethrower with DDF? A good example was in Cory Whittle's modifications...it'd be easier, more powerful, and you can light other people on fire if you code it correctly.

Just a suggestion. IMO DeHacked is useless if you have DDF.

Touche', salesman

That sounds like a good idea to me, although, I do find that when projects come out into the open, you can be harassed quite a bit when you don't meet your deadlines/don't provide enough content to whet the appetite of the fans :P Just look at Korax Mod, they've been under a lot of fire in recent w...

I understand the want for a game experience unlike Doom, since it is almost as old as I am. Your idea is refreshing to hear, and the more you say, the greater your project sounds. Decals and chase cam? Incredible =) The chasecam is getting really hard to do though because it's basically RTS trigger...

Great release, feels good to not be running the RC's anymore, and it's very very stable. One great milestone of many in the history of this awesome source port :P

I like it, but for some reason it has speed issues running it in Server 2003. When in Vista or XP it runs fine, but only when it's in Server x64 it seems to lag around, takes a long time to load, takes a long time to load a component in the program...the images.ddf tool is pretty handy, and the off...

I'll eventually post it in the projects section, but I'm really excited to show the community what hasn't been done yet, and as much as I would like to show everyone...it's just not ready yet :) Don's Challenge was a blast to play, but it felt too much like Doom. What I'm aiming for is for it to no...

With the 3d floors you have to set the object at the height of the 3d floor, so it would appear to be on the "floor" of the second story. If you had a hotel or something you'd use this method, should be easy to figure out from there. I don't understand the water question though, are you wa...

Modification File Size Limit - Important!

http://www.3dfxdev.net/REU.jpg If everything goes as planned, my modification might span over 100 megabytes of high-res data...but I'm not sure if I want to keep it that way or scale most of the high-res data down for slower and unoptimized computers...as it is, the high-res content actually makes ...

For a texture, such as one that appears on screen, how can you rescale it without doing it to the image itself? For the tricks I'm pulling off, I need the textures (outside of the WAD) to stay at the resolution of 1024x512. I'm not getting why it's giving me a problem. Now, I'm using EDGE title pic...

rotate on this!

I'm having rotational errors too with friendly creatures that I program...I've never had this problem with any of the other NPC's but the creatures seem to randomly turn to the front or back angles, or any other angle opposite to usually what it should be, and it's random...it looks pretty creepy se...

Can't load EDGE...

It crashes to the desktop with an error...Internal Error: Missing -GLNodes

I assumed I needed to use glBSP but using that didn't help either. My levels are pretty large, and I'm wondering if that's what's causing my mod to crash...

Any ideas?

Importing textures...

Ok, so I have a lot of high-res content that I did, and I want to import them into Doom...so I figure, they have to be 128x128 right? Well, I loaded up XWE and I tried to load them directly into the wad under the Textures tab, and it made a severe loss of color quality...I know I figured out how to...

Connection Speed

I was wondering what sort of connection speeds everyone here uses. I'm interested because I can already tell my release is going to be pretty big, and I have the ability to chop it down in individual releases , also thinking about a low-res, high-res option (different wad files, but in essence the s...

Yeah, I'm having problems with my host (i.e. they've deleted my whole site!) and I'm trying to get it sorted out. Unfortunately there is no mirror, but hopefully in a day or two the site will be up and running again. (I have a backup from the 3rd of July in the worst case scenario) If you want, you...

Weather...

I was thinking if it was possible to render weather effects better... Ok, naturally you'd have it defined in Things.ddf (like rain or snow) and then just put every sprite ID into a level editor, which can be pretty time consuming and messy...so I was thinking.... Would there be some sort of way to d...

Renderer support...

I was recently digging around the old Edge archives (you know, 1.24 and up) since an old friend sparked my interest in it again, and it seems like in the new releases, you have left out the Software renderer... I was either interested in wondering if bringing it back would be an option or if the sou...
