The code can already angle an MD2 model up or down -- no problem there.

It is a question of when to do it. How about always doing it for MISSILEs, and have a new special flag for anything else?

That value is not supposed to be a percentage, so EDGE ignores the "%" sign and just sees "100" (or "50" or whatever).

Hmmm........ fixing this could potentially break somebody's mod out there, although the risk is probably small......... OK I will fix it.

I checked and found the [ALLBRIGHT] entry is never used, the effect is hard-coded (it adjusts the sector lighting value). Hence I have removed the misleading comment and have moved that entry to the "cruft" area at the end of COLMAP.DDF The invulnerability effect causes a noticeable pause ...

Voxels for items doesn't interest me : you can get better visuals with less effort using MD2 models. Voxels for architecture might be interesting. Hmmm.... after thinking about it for a while, I can't help but think that it would be just as easy to create the architecture the Quake way (with brushes...

If I understand well, is it supposed the "WAIT_UNTIL_DEAD" only triggers if monster XXXXX dies into a triggereable area?. The point is to allow a room where you must kill e.g. two baron of hells for the door to open, while still allowing baron of hells in other parts of the map. T...

EDGE 1.35 RC#1

The first Release Candidate (RC) of EDGE 1.35 is now available. You can find it in the Test Builds folder in the Downloads area on sourceforge. There are packages for both Windows and Linux. Since it is a Release Candidate, the packages contain everything a full release would, e.g. all the demo wads...

But I guess how states can be defined not using the typical "PISG:A:5:BRIGHT:SHOOT". Maybe with User-Defined Types? (Refer to FreeBasic UDTs) Yeah COAL2 has user defined types i.e. "classes", though it probably won't be a fully object-orientated language -- another goal is to ke...

Welcome back man :) I have been doing some work on COAL2, the successor of COAL which will be featureful enough for doing all the game logic. The design is almost finished and the coding has begun. One goal is that something like DDF would not be needed, because you'll be able to supply the data and...

What version of mingw32 and what OS are you using? I'm using mingw32 ersion 4.2.1 in Debian testing (Squeeze). The version should not matter, but maybe something significant was changed. For example, there is no "libgcc_s_*" library in any of these Debian mingw32 packages. Again make sure ...

You said libogg compiles OK, so the linker should find it, but it does not. Perhaps the lib file (.a extension) is in a different place than the Makefile expects. Run "find lib_win32 -name libogg.a" and see if it finds it, then compare the location with the -L part in the Makefile, for exa...

Corbin, SCons has been removed in SVN. It uses Makefiles now. If you're trying to build in Windows, then I can't help since I'm not a Windows guy and I always build Win32 binaries in Linux. Hungerfish, that header should not be needed, if you look at os_types.h you'll see # if defined(__CYGWIN__...

There is a serious bug with COAL where if you provide a replacement draw_all() function EDGE doesn't find it and keeps using the old one. Please use the 1.35c test version which I posted in the General Discussion forum, which fixes that COAL problem --- though it has a few problems of its own (mainl...

. *sound of crickets* . I don't need to say much, this thread says it all Oh well. We (the EDGE team) did our best, and while we did a few decent things, we fucked up a lot more things. I certainly learnt a lot over the 10 years or so working on EDGE, and would definitely do many things differently ...

I plan to do it, and it is on my TODO list.

But I don't know when I will do it. EDGE seems so dead now and working on it feels like a total waste of time.
