Yes, I remember playing this a long while ago. Justin Fisher is arguably one of the greatest oldschool Doomers :P I had always wanted to make an EDGE mod based on Aliens, but Liberation has beaten me to the punch!

Visual distortion effects? If that were possible, that's probably not to be a primary goal for the EDGE engine. Maybe some of you ambitious young-folk should take a peek into the source, yourselves =p

Makes perfect sense to me, Dartmerc, and you indeed pose a very interesting idea. Though you may be right, this might be something Ajapted has planned for when EDGE obtains LUA support. The ambitious modder might find a plethora of uses out of a simple feature like that, I'm sure.

I was thinking that the current system of resistances/immunities is somewhat awkward. Setting resistances only allow you to have an actor's damage reduced by 60%, or not. I do like the sound of this. Resistance to damage types based on your armour, as well as being able to adjust the depletion rate, allows the user to create fire-resilient armour, or even armour that blocks 90% damage, but only for one or two shots. At the time of the screenshot, .md2 models were not usable in EDGE. Those screenshots contained sprites, made of .md3s from a Half-Life mod, if I recall.

Wow! Just looking at some of the new textures is simply amazing. I can only imagine the amount of work involved in such a process, of re-creating the old Doom textures. Actually, I cannot - I am not artistically inclined, and so I have no knowledge of the process :P
